Precious Cahuenga Peak Wildlife: Lizards!

Cahuenga Peak is brimming with natural habitat and species native only to these mountains, thanks to the high elevation and a foggy microclimate that feeds vegetation found only here. Rare California Plummers mariposa lily, native butterflies, surviving coast lizards, and oak-sycamore woodlands are lush in this quirky landscape undisturbed by human development. Coexisting with the rich plant varieties are several lizard species, 37 bird species, 15 butterflies species, and mammals - some of these being endangered.
