A Cover-up for Conservation

The red letters have come and gone, but the call to action lives on. We have until April 14, 2010 to raise $12.5 million to purchase the land around the Hollywood Sign and add it to Griffith Park. And we need your help.

If the land were developed, today's unspoiled view of this LA icon would go the way of
the silent movie. Saving Cahuenga Peak's 138 acres will not only protect the view, it will
preserve access for recreation and the land's healthy ecosystem.

While the great Hollywood Sign cover-up lasted only five days, development would alter
the surrounding land forever. Please donate.

So what happens to the money if you don't raise enough? Is the plan to be able to keep the Hollywood letters?
